|Marc by Marc Jacobs SS 12|
I know I'm a little late with this... but it's better now than never, right? but I'm a blogger, and I'm blogging about many things and about fashion in particular... so I thought I had to post about these creatures... but be aware, dear readers because I still don't know how I feel about them...
how do I feel? well, as far as I can say, this is one of those cases when you change your mind every other day. let me explain it better: first time I saw the arch-known Isabel Marant sneakers I hated them. I was like 'woahh, these are disgusting!'. then I saw Beyoncé dancing on them. after that, I saw them everywhere so many times that I started liking (not loving) them. yeah, the process it was more or less like I tell you.
now, I don't really get what's going on with wedged sneakers, because it's not only the french designer who innovated in high fashion by introducing them (and I say in high fashion, because this kind of shoes was not a Marant's invention... they actually existed before!!), but many designers did it as well! just in case you don't trust me, see the pictures below... from left to right: Ash, Isabel Marant, Marc by Marc Jacobs, See by Chloé and Giuseppe Zanotti. (and this is just to name a few, I've read somewhere that Nike did their own version too!).
and I can't help but wonder myself: what's the point on making sneakers higher? after all, sneakers are just useful as long as they give our feet a break from heels, right?
that's why I still don't know how I feel about them... yesterday I loved them, and today I don't feel like loving them anymore... am I turning bipolar? nah, I don't thing so, hehe! (the only thing I know is that if I had to choose one concret design I'd pick the Zanottis... this man knows what he's doing, huh?) and what about you, how do you feel about this wedged sneaker fever?
see you later skaters, and thank you so much for reading!!
